Lioele - The surprisingly gorgeous Lip Color Stick review!

Sometimes I'm a bit of an impulse buyer and more often than not I'm left slightly disappointment with my purchases. But then there's that rare occasion where something just completely exceeds my expectations and blows them out of the water. The Lioele Lip Color Sticks did just that.

From the pictures on eBay i was expecting a semi sheer finish lip product, slightly akin to the famous Clinique Chubby Sticks but oh no, these are so much more. I actually gasped a little when i first swatched them. They are gloriously pigmented, beautiful, satin finish lip colours, and i am well and truly in love. I would have been perfectly happy with a sheer lip crayon considering their under £4 price tag but we all know that I'm a matte girl at heart so these are right up my street. 

For £3.28 each (including delivery) you have four gorgeous colours to choose from; Cherry Red, Hot Pink, Orange and Pink. The two featured here are Cherry Red and Pink, but I'd be lying if i said i didn't already have the other two shades on my watch list. These also contain 4g of product which as lip products go, is a pretty hefty amount. The packaging feels and looks a little light and cheap but for the price point, I'm certainly not complaining!

 

Because of their satin texture i did find these a little bit on the drying side, so a good exfoliation and a lip balm is a must but these apply opaque in one to two sweeps and have excellent lasting power. I've worn the Pink shade for a good 5 hours before needing a touch up, which is pretty darn good for me! Because of their more matte like texture these don't bleed or travel around the lip line either which is one of my pet peeves for lip products. They apply smoothly and are pretty comfortable on the lips too. ... Just look at those colours!

 

I can honestly say these are my favourite affordable lipstick discovery of the year, they rival the quality of even higher end lipsticks but at a fraction of the cost. For once, I'm so glad I took a little gamble and ordered them because it definitely paid off! I absolutely adore them! Now heres hoping that Lioele are kind enough to release some more shades, because i for one would jump straight on that bandwagon!

The perfect lipstick holder!

Over the Christmas period i went on a little bit of a organising spree with all my stuff including my makeup storage. I found my MAC lipsticks were going unloved purely because i am lazy and couldn't be bothered to route through them all to find which shade i wanted. So i thought enough was enough and went on the hunt for a lipstick holder that would fit in my Ikea Alex unit!

It took a little while to find this gem on eBay due to all the cheaper ones i could find seemed to be tiered, meaning they really weren't going to fit in the shallow drawers that house my lip products. Finally, i spotted this 24 space lipstick holder and although it is tiered it doesn't lift the lipstick, just the casing is a little higher on each row, perfect! 

As you can see this holds all my MAC lipsticks (if i can resist buying any more) and my favourite YSL matte lippies. I can finally see what shades I'm grabbing without having to turn each lipstick over. Price wise its a little more expensive than the basic lipstick holders but is still a steal for a piece of acrylic storage at £7.09 here. It fits in my Alex unit perfectly but leaves a large gap at the side which i now use for storing my lip liners. I've even gone as far as grabbing a second one off eBay for my cheaper lippies... But i think I'm going to need a third!

I'm pretty damn chuffed with this purchase! It fits neatly into shallow storage and would look pretty on any dressing table. So if you're after a new lipstick holder check this one out!

Wet 'N' Wild Mega Last Lipsticks

Got a bit of an exciting one for you lot today!

Following so many blogs has one downside, i get real product envy! So many amazing products aren't available in the UK so i find myself quite often having a good ol' search through eBay trying to find a bargain or two! Often prices are fine but shipping is horrendous, but i think i struck gold with these!

 

The Wet 'N' Wild Mega Last Lipsticks are quite the raved about lippie over in the USA! They come in around 20 different shades (don't quote me, i may be wrong), cost around $1.99 each and most have more of a low sheen to matte formula. I spotted these on eBay and they worked out at just over £3 each including combined shipping, bargain! So fast forward two weeks and these bad boys were here!

The two colours i picked up were Just Peachy and Don't Plink Pink. I was a tad worried Just Peachy may be like a concealer lip on me, as it is my very first peach lippie, but i was pleasantly surprised, its gorgeous! Don't Blink Pink is a stunning ultra bright pink, a little too bright for day wear (for me anyways) but perfect for a night out! Application was pretty easy, well saying that my lip swatches are pretty horrendous! They apply opaque in one swipe and have some awesome lasting power! Being on the matte side i find they grip the lips better, and are less likely to slide off. And I am pleased to say i found them in no way drying!

Overall i wholeheartedly recommend these babies! They have a ton of colours, apply like a dream and are even pretty affordable considering i had to ship them in from the USA. So if your from the USA and haven't tried these, do so, now! And if you're from the UK you can check out the eBay seller i found here.

Budget "Beauty Blender"

After my last haul i had quite a few requests for a review on my eBay makeup sponge find, so here it is!

Firstly, I've never tried an actual Beauty Blender so i can't place real comparisons on the two, and i don't think I'd ever be willing to part with $20 for a sponge! So after hearing a ton of rave reviews on this type of sponge i went for a good ol' hunt on eBay and stumbled across this one!

I payed around £2 for this including shipping from Hong Kong, but for so cheap i was willing to take the risk that it might be utter crap when it arrived, but luckily i was pleasantly surprised! Named a "Bottle gourd sponge" on Ebay, there was plenty of sellers to choose from, so i opted to spend a few pence more and go for a top rated seller. It arrived within two weeks!

Now I've had bad experiences with sponge wedges, i could never get on with application and whenever i tried to wash them they'd break and fall apart. I am REALLY enjoying using this for application of thicker foundations, and even my Double Wear (although it is a pain in the ass to wash out!). By dampening it down with warm water it makes most of my foundations a dream to apply and blend, and for me it really helps at not accentuating my pores, which is great! It's also great for eliminating cakeyness, i have a horrid habit of over powdering and getting a slightly cakey top lip, so I've been loving using this to stipple over any mistakes to get a fresher, less cakey finish.

Again, I've never tried the actual Beauty Blender sponge because of its price, but if you are in the UK there are a few cheap alternatives if you are not confident buying through eBay!
