Coastal Scents 10 Blush Palette - Review

Ello Lovelies!

Somewhere around Christmas i placed quite a sizable Coastal Scents order during one of their 50% off sales. They have these quite often so if they're a brand on your radar I'd wait for one of these events to snag a great deal! As I'm pretty sure you all already know Coastal Scents is one of those brands that sell a bunch of large eyeshadow, blush concealer palettes including the now infamous 88 palettes. They also sell a large range of other products including brushes, single "hot pot" eyeshadows (cheeky review of those coming in the near future), primer glitter etc. etc. I've previously reviewed their Revealed Palette, their Naked 1 and 2 dupes here.

There are currently two 10 pan blush palettes and today I'll be reviewing the original 10 Blush Palette. It hosts a wide range of shades from pinks, peaches, berries and more natural tones making it extremely versatile and would be the perfect pick for makeup artists in training, girls just starting out in makeup or just your typical beauty lover as it has a $17.99 regular price tag, but remember what i told you all about those sales!

It has an array of finishes from matte, satin to a couple of shimmer based shades which I've really enjoyed for layering. I had this little gem in my daily makeup stash for a good 3-4 weeks without needing to reach for anything else! They are all well pigment, just slightly on the drier side which makes them a little more difficult to blend. Most of the shades will need to be used with a light hand on fairer skin tones as it is very easy to go overboard then takes a little work to blend. Some of the shades are a tad stiffer in the pan then others but performance wise they are pretty consistent across the board.

Overall i think some of the textures can be a bit more effort to work with but for the price this a lovely palette and something I'm glad to have in my collection. The packaging is quite large so probably not the best option for travel but if you're looking to add a range of shades to your makeup stash, this really isn't a bad choice!

Just a heads up! Do remember in the UK you will most likely get customs charged for any purchase over the value of £15 coming from outside the EU, plus a pesky Royal Mail/Fed Ex fee. I know customs are a bit hit or miss on what they pick up but i got stung with my Coastal Scents order so thought it only right to let you all know.

You can find the 10 Blush Palette here.

Have you tried Coastal Scents before?

Nyx Butter Lipsticks - Review

Heya Lovelies!

Nyx's Butter Glosses and Lipsticks have been a real smash hit product with bloggers over the past six months or so. So little addict here had to get on the bandwagon and after some frantic eBay searching i finally found a reputable seller that had these in stock. After spending quite some time searching for swatches i finally decided on these three shades; Hunk, Sweet Tart and Taffy. I wanted an array of shades to really give the formula a try, mostly because I had my eye on another three... I really am awful!

The packaging on these really floats my boat as each tubes colour corresponds with the lipstick shade inside, really great for quickly grabbing one out my lippy collection! They do however feel quite cheap, which may be expected with their $6 price tag, i just have to make sure the lid is secure before throwing in my handbag! Currently Nyx have released 22 shades of Butter Lipstick so if these colours don't take your fancy I'm sure one of the 19 others might.

The texture of these is on the thinner, sheerer side for a lipstick with the deeper shades packing the most colour punch. They are incredibly comfortable on the lips, a little slippy but feel somewhat moisturising which is a nice change from my usual matte picks. I just have to make sure (quite often) that I've not got them smeared all over my teeth... Which due to their thinner consistency (and my sloppy application) happens quite a bit on me. Also due to the texture they don't wear more than a few hours before needing a touch up which is their real downside. The wear time is quite a bit better over a lip liner, i really love Nyx's ones fyi, but they do not feather if applied without.

Taffy - Sweet Tart - Hunk

Sweet Tart and Taffy are the two I've been reaching for the most out of the bunch, mostly for throwing in my handbag for quick day time touch ups. I do love the shade Hunk (very similar to Mac's Rebel) but i prefer my deeper shades to wear a lot longer than this does. On a whole i was a little underwhelmed with these lipsticks and for me, they didn't live up to the Youtube hype they received. They aren't bad, they have a great colour range i just wish they had better staying power. I have also ran out of willpower and ordered a few of the Nyx Butter Glosses so i hope those really are hype worthy!

You can find these on eBay here.

FOTD: The lazy "no makeup" look

Hey Lovelies!

We all have those days where we want to do a full face of makeup, but then you really can't bothered, right? I have those quite a lot and more often than not my laziness wins over and all i end up doing is smearing BB cream across my face and sloppily apply mascara. Today i did things a little bit different, well the sloppy mascara is still there, but i actually put a smidge more effort in for a lazy Sunday.

I'm really into a lot of new "drugstore" makeup bits lately so I'll have some more affordable reviews coming up over the next few weeks. My favourite of the bunch is the Bourjois CC Cream... Finally a Bourjois foundation shade match for me, its a bloody miracle! I'm also loving my little Bite Lipstick duo, no review of this as it decided to snap and break my heart a little in the process on the way back from the USA. Little sidetrack over, I'll get on with the products i used!

Eyes:
Maybelline - One by One Mascara
Laura Mercier - Secret Brightening Powder
Maybelline - Master Shape Pencil

Lips:
Fresh - Lip balm
Bite Beauty - Lychee Lipstick

Face:
Maybelline - Dream Lumi Concealer
Maybelline - Dream Matte Powder (DC)
Bourjois - CC Cream
Bourjois - Bronzing Primer
Nars - Laguna Bronzer
Milani - Corallina Blush (applied lightly)

Okay that's quite a few products for a "lazy" day, but oh well! Hope you're all having a lovely weekend!

What's your must have product for lazy days?

Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter in Peach Lights - Review

Hey there Lovelies!

Makeup Revolution have been doing the rounds here in the blogging world so of course i had to place a cheeky order, or two! With a huge product line and bargain prices they were bound to catch us beauty lovers attention. They have a real extensive line of products and a lot of "dupes" of higher end products so I'll have quite a few more exciting MUR reviews coming up here on the blog!

As with a fair amount of their products their Vivid Baked Highlighter really reminds me of the much loved pink MUA Highlighter offering, but MUR have no affiliation with the brand. This particular product comes in three shades, Peach Lights (as pictured, but my shoddy lighting has washed the product pics out quite significantly), Pink Lights and Golden Lights.

Baked highlighters are some of my favourite products to use and my Mac Mineralized Skinfishes are some of my most reached for products in my collection, so i was eager to pick up a cheaper alternative. It contains a rather generous 7.5g of product and is housed in pretty sturdy plastic packaging. Texture wise the powder is quite stiff but easily picked up onto a brush (i like to use the Real Techniques Contour Brush to apply it) and blends out quite nicely.

Finish wise it has quite a metallic sheen to it, making it a no go for me for day time use unless used with a real light hand. The peach doesn't really translate on the skin either just leaving more of a sheer champagne glow which I've quite enjoyed for more dramatic, evening looks. All you glitter haters can breathe a sigh of relief that this contains no chunky glitter either, and on me it doesn't tend to accentuate my pores.
For a bargain brand this is a really decent highlighter, just not for daytime wear for me personally. It costs a mere £3 and contains a lot of product for the price point which is always a plus. If you enjoy MUA's Pink Highligher offering then I'm sure you'll love the Makeup Revolution ones, now have a couple more shades to play with. My Mineralized Skinfishes still hold my heart on the highlighter front but for a budget brand this gets a thumbs up from me!

Makeup Revolution are due to launch in selected Superdrug stores but in the meantime you can check out their range on the website here.

Have you tried any Makeup Revolution products?

USA Haul: Part 1 - MAC and Michael Kors

Hi there Lovelies!

I've been back a few weeks now and am finally starting to get my shit together with all the goodies i purchased whilst on my Florida trip last month. I was a bit naughty and did some serious spending so I'm planning to try something new and start doing a video or two here and there. The first one being the MAC and Michael Kors portions of my haul!

Now I'm not very experienced with filming and editing so you will just have to bear with me while i find my filming feet as it were. So as I'm pretty darn bad at editing (if you have any tips, tricks or software advice please do leave me a comment below) I've decided to write up this little post with the swatches of the gorgeous lippies i purchased. If you'd like to see swatches of the Mac Osbourne pretties i mention in the video, click here to see the post!

Safe to say I am i on a real MAC lipstick ban (technically an entire makeup ban, but we all know how much i suck at those) for the rest of the year now! And my colour descriptions are a bit rubbish to say the least but oh well! I've enjoyed filming so far and have a drugstore, Bath & Bodyworks, Zoya and Sephora ones to film asap!

Enough rambling, on to the swatches!
Flamingo - Flat Out Fabulous - Impassioned - Up The Amp
Girl About Town - Pink Plaid - Coral Bliss - Pink Nouveau

So would you guys like to see the odd video now and again after my little haul series? If you have any requests or suggestions please do let me know!

What is your favourite MAC lipstick shade?

Pacifica - Hawaiian Ruby Guava and Tuscan Blood Orange Perfume Review

Hii Lovelies!

Pacifica is a brand that's been on my radar now for quite some time. Fruity, sweet fragrances are my scent of choice and Tuscan Blood Orange is a scent that has popped up time and time again in many a popular Youtuber's videos. I'd lusted over their website for a good year or so but sadly, up until recently they did not ship to the UK. With another pang of lust over these scents a quick google search showed me that Feel Unique had started stocking a lot of the range, hurrah! So with a frantic search for coupon codes (FeelUnique almost always have a coupon or two running) i finally snagged these two babies!

Hawaiian Ruby Guava (RRP: £20) was a scent i hadn't heard too much about but from a quick look at the notes was something i almost certainly would adore. It reminds me lots of the Guava Rubicon drink with an added coconut kick... Now that would make a great beverage! Its a tropical, sweet and fruity scent that i just cant get enough of. I absolutely love it. I only have one gripe and sadly, its quite a big one. It just doesn't last on the skin. An hour or so after a good few sprays (i like to drown myself in it really...) theres little to no scent left behind, which is a real shame.

"Inspired by a surfing trip to Hawaii, this sexy and sultry tropical blend combines sweet, berry-like notes of Guava with a bright, citrusy top note of Pomelo and a warm and subtle Coconut base." (Source, FeelUnique)

Tuscan Blood Orange (RRP: £20) is probably Pacifica's most famous fragrance and with good reason. Its a gorgeous sweet orange scent that really, really reminds me of old school Sunny D, before they changed it for all those health reasons. Its not too tart or sharp for an orange scent and has a good amount of sweetness to balance it out. Its really one of those scents that makes me happy with a quick sniff. This is probably my favourite of the two but again the lasting power really really sucks. I'm so torn because i absolutely love the scents, but i can see myself running through these  really quickly.

"In this delectable blend, juicy and spicy Blood Orange is offset with subtle Strawberry and Raspberry notes and grounded in fleshy Mandarin and Italian Sweet Orange. An orange connoisseur's dream."  (Source, FeelUnique)

Price wise for a perfume these are pretty good at £20 but for me they only have the lasting power (maybe a tad longer) of a body spray with is a big big let down. Although they do have solid perfumes within the range, so I'm a bit tempted to say the least to give those a bash.
Overall i think these are a fruity fragrance lovers dream, just a real shame about the lasting power. Would i repurchase? Probably. I really do adore the scents and their lower price points make up for their lack of staying power for me. These really are perfect for summer and a quick splash of tropical scent. If you're into more mature, sophisticated scents I'd probably give these a miss.

Available from Feel Unique here.

MAC Osbourne Haul & Review

Ello Lovelies!

A quick haul and mini review from me today! I've been trying to sort through my holiday goodies for some posts and potentially a couple of videos but considering how hot these products are, i thought i should get this up ASAP! A good few months back Sharon Osbourne shared a picture of her palette from her then upcoming MAC collection and i was pretty much hooked at first sight.

I'd been checking online for this release for days and somehow i completely missed the launch and everything sold out online within the hour. Needless to say, i was not impressed. Luckily Southampton now has a MAC counter and i was able to get in touch and find out if they had stock in... They did so i ran like a crazy woman into town. Oh how i do wish MAC would give definite release dates, it would make me (and many other MAC fans) much happier!

I really only wanted the two lipsticks i picked up but i have absolutely no willpower and picked up a couple more bits from the collection. Jolly Good Mineralize Skinfinish and Peaches And Cream Blush... What can i say? I'm a sucker for packaging!
Being so fair i usually skip on most of Mac's MSF releases as generally their bronzers are either too dark or too orange for me but Jolly Good looks rather promising! You can use each segment individually or swirl them together and as far as first impressions go, i really quite like it! It is very powdery so i have to use a light hand but i really love this so far for giving an all over glow to the face. And thats a pretty rare thing in an MSF for fair skinned ol' me!

Ignore the name, Peaches and Cream is an extremely pretty pink blush. It actually swatches far darker than it looks in the pan which is surprising (or could be a downside for some people) and I've got to say I'm pretty smitten with this too! Its super pigmented but when applied with a light hand (i have a habit of going overboard with blushes and looking like Aunt Sally) it looks pretty damn good if i do say so myself. The shimmer translates to more of a sheen on the skin and gives the illusion of a healthy flush or glow to the face. This one gets a big thumbs up from me too!

And last, but definitely not least is the lipsticks! The main reason i ran like a mad lady to my Mac store for. Now i haven't worn these yet so can't give these a real review or first impressions but I'm rarely disappointed with a Satin or Matte Mac lipstick so I'm pretty sure its going to be love. Kelly Yum Yum takes a slight twist (and i mean slight) on the oh so popular Candy Yum Yum. To me Kelly's version is a smidge darker and warmer making it a hell of a lot more wearable for me at least. And not forgetting Dodgey Girl... We're all a bit crazy over purple toned lippies lately aren't we? I had my worries that this wasn't going to be lavender enough for my liking but I'm pleased as punch with it from the swatches. Now i just need to be able to pull it off!

If like me you've been lusting and waiting for this collection for months i wouldn't hang around to snag your favourites up. The collection sold out within the day online so I'd make a speedy trip to your local counter! I don't think I've been this enthusiastic over a Mac collection in years! But for my no buys sake, i need to avoid the rest of the years launches!

Did you pick anything up from this collection?

What was your favourite?
