Clinique Cheek Pop Blushes - Review

Ello Lovelies!

Clinique blushes will always have a little piece of my heart as they are were quite possibly some of the first higher end blushes I ever owned. My lovely Mumma used to buy little Clinique gift sets for my sisters and I for Christmas most of my teenage years so I always had one in my makeup bag. Clinique makeup has really evolved over the years and I'm a little sad to say that they aren't something I've delved back into... until now!

These little beauties have recieved RAVE reviews all over the blogosphere, so much so that the UK had a countrywide shortage of these upon their release. Luckily now a quick google search has informed me they are all back in stock on the Boots and Clinique website, yay! I decided on two of the four colours; Plum Pop and Peach Pop as i felt these were the most wearable two for my coloring. Good ol' Boots points paid for Plum and i luckily spotted Peach in Gatwick's Duty Free back in May so now I have my paws on the two i wanted i can get onto to reviewing them!

First off, lets talk about packaging! How adorable are these? The clear casing is a thick, sturdy plastic and reveals the utterly pretty flower design of the product inside. I like to leave these sat out on my dressing table because they are just too precious! The products flower design is quite deep into the product, so i imagine it'd take quite a bit of use to wear the flower design down. I've been using these two almost every day this most and have yet to make a dent. These contain 3.5g of product which is a little under average for a blush (Nars blushes contain 4.8g and MAC have 6g) but they also have a lower price point at £16.50 which balances this out slightly.

Plum Pop is an absolutely stunning cool toned plummy pink that can be applied sheerly for just a flush of colour or with a heavier hand for a more intense plum cheek. I've found with both these blushes that when used with a softer synthetic brush (i use the Real Techniques Blush Brush) that they apply sheer and need a bit of building up as the bristles don't tend to pick up a ton of colour, but for a more intense look a natural bristled brush tends to pick up a lot more.

Peach Pop is my favourite of the two and is an almost slightly pinky peach which is an absolute stunner of a shade for summer. Both shades blend with absolute ease and are a real delight to use as they are really hard to overdo. Neither shades contain any shimmer but leave more of a satin like sheen to the cheek, so for every day wear I've been skipping highlighter. I might go as far to say that Peach Pop may be my new favourite peach blush and up there in my top 5 blushes ever! It really is beautiful.

Peach Pop - Plum Pop

Overall these blushes get a huge stamp of approval from me. So much so that I'm considering getting my mitts on the other two just to complete my collection. I really have enjoyed using these blushes and i don't think they'll be leaving my every day makeup stash any time soon! I really hope that with the success of this formula Clinique will release even more shades, because we all know I'd buy them!

You can find these in stores and on the Boots website here.

Pacifica - Hawaiian Ruby Guava and Tuscan Blood Orange Perfume Review

Hii Lovelies!

Pacifica is a brand that's been on my radar now for quite some time. Fruity, sweet fragrances are my scent of choice and Tuscan Blood Orange is a scent that has popped up time and time again in many a popular Youtuber's videos. I'd lusted over their website for a good year or so but sadly, up until recently they did not ship to the UK. With another pang of lust over these scents a quick google search showed me that Feel Unique had started stocking a lot of the range, hurrah! So with a frantic search for coupon codes (FeelUnique almost always have a coupon or two running) i finally snagged these two babies!

Hawaiian Ruby Guava (RRP: £20) was a scent i hadn't heard too much about but from a quick look at the notes was something i almost certainly would adore. It reminds me lots of the Guava Rubicon drink with an added coconut kick... Now that would make a great beverage! Its a tropical, sweet and fruity scent that i just cant get enough of. I absolutely love it. I only have one gripe and sadly, its quite a big one. It just doesn't last on the skin. An hour or so after a good few sprays (i like to drown myself in it really...) theres little to no scent left behind, which is a real shame.

"Inspired by a surfing trip to Hawaii, this sexy and sultry tropical blend combines sweet, berry-like notes of Guava with a bright, citrusy top note of Pomelo and a warm and subtle Coconut base." (Source, FeelUnique)

Tuscan Blood Orange (RRP: £20) is probably Pacifica's most famous fragrance and with good reason. Its a gorgeous sweet orange scent that really, really reminds me of old school Sunny D, before they changed it for all those health reasons. Its not too tart or sharp for an orange scent and has a good amount of sweetness to balance it out. Its really one of those scents that makes me happy with a quick sniff. This is probably my favourite of the two but again the lasting power really really sucks. I'm so torn because i absolutely love the scents, but i can see myself running through these  really quickly.

"In this delectable blend, juicy and spicy Blood Orange is offset with subtle Strawberry and Raspberry notes and grounded in fleshy Mandarin and Italian Sweet Orange. An orange connoisseur's dream."  (Source, FeelUnique)

Price wise for a perfume these are pretty good at £20 but for me they only have the lasting power (maybe a tad longer) of a body spray with is a big big let down. Although they do have solid perfumes within the range, so I'm a bit tempted to say the least to give those a bash.
Overall i think these are a fruity fragrance lovers dream, just a real shame about the lasting power. Would i repurchase? Probably. I really do adore the scents and their lower price points make up for their lack of staying power for me. These really are perfect for summer and a quick splash of tropical scent. If you're into more mature, sophisticated scents I'd probably give these a miss.

Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Balm

Hey lovelies!
Simply put, i love lip balm. A few months ago i put myself on a lip balm ban. Mostly because of the whopping 22 i found, some in my collection some lurking in handbags and dotted around the house. So i felt that number was a little bit excessive and started to use up what i liked and binned what i didn't. Now this was a few months back and I've whittled it down to only having 3 or 4 around the house, so surely i could justify a new one, right?

I'd heard quite a lot about Lanolips through the blogosphere, and as Boots were having a 3 for 2 on most items picking one up as i stocked up on moisturiser seemed like a good plan! I opted for the Lemonaid version and I'm so glad i did! It smells absolutely DIVINE, like a sugary cloudy lemonade. Probably the best smelling lip balm I've come across so far. It applies pretty much clear with a very, very fine gold shimmer to it and looks gorgeous on the lips. It has slightly more slip than lip balms I'm used to but that doesn't really fuss me. The only thing that does slightly bug me is the applicator (which i stupidly didn't photograph), it doesn't have a regular plastic applicator like you'd expect from a lip balm, rather a small hole so you have to apply it with your fingers, which I'm not a huge fan of.

So it smells nice, it looks nice, but does it work? Yes, but I'm not hugely blown away by it. Yes its moisturising but nothing that wow'd me. Do i think its worth the money, YES. For the scent alone I'd repurchase this, its a plus that it actually works. If your expecting some wonder balm your not going to get it, but what you will get is a beautifully scented, pretty decent lip balm. I guess i was just expecting more considering its price tag and how hyped this is. But nether the less its a pretty lovely balm.

Have you tried Lanolips? What did you think?

Recent Rediscoveries: Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser

 Heya lovelies!
I've got another addition to my "Recent Rediscoveries" series in store for you lot today! As i mentioned before I've been forced to do a lot more "shopping the stash" lately as my mega saving panic has fully kicked in, my holiday is only just under four months away now so need to get those pennies put away asap! But the upside to this is that I've been rediscovering some real gems in my makeup collection and this has got to be my favourite so far!

Weirdly enough this product was my first ever review here on my blog! I cringe a bit when i go back and read it now, but hey, we've all got to start somewhere!

This was my "getting into university" pressie from my Mum during the summer last year. I'd been lusting after the Silk Creme foundation (still am really) but got talked into the tinted moisturiser at the counter. I absolutely loved this for the first few weeks i had it but i then discovered BB Creams and this has been quite unloved ever since. Now i have around 22 foundations, tinted moisturisers and BB creams (apparently that is too much :P ) so Ive been trying to work out which ones are usable and which ones i really can't work with and sadly there are quite a few in this category. But i am pleased to say i fell back in love with this one!

Generally, i love fuller coverage foundations. But i have come to learn that they are not always needed, and i can get a lovely finish with a sheer / low coverage product and a dab of concealer. I first hooked this out my collection around two weeks ago and slapped it on with my Real Techniques Buffing Brush and was gobsmacked. Okay, the colour isn't a complete match for me, but the sheerness of the product makes it pretty forgiving. It looks AMAZING on the skin. Its sheer but has enough coverage to really even out the skin tone and cover any minor imperfections, anything else i slap some concealer on. For a tinted moisturiser it is not at all shiny, I'd describe it as more of a satin finish. I've been REALLY enjoying wearing this with just a touch of concealer, bronzer and mascara as my quick every day look.

It sadly has one down side, price. At £33 for a 40ml tube its not at all cheap and i do feel myself using a bit more product than I'd like at that price. I'm seriously not looking forward to running out of this but even with its not so friendly price tag i think I'd have to repurchase it! I can see this being a staple for summer seeing as it has SPF 20 and doesn't feel heavy or greasy on the skin. They also have an "oil free" and "illuminating" version so there is something for everyone.
But I'm still lusting over Silk Creme, hmph!

Have you tried any of Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturisers or Foundations? What did you think?
