With my low buy in full swing this year i thought I'd do a small blog sale to clear out any of my unloved items. This way someone else might be able to show them a little more love than i have. Many have just been swatched with the rest being used just a handful of times and I'll detail the usage on each item. 

 

Sadly i am doing this UK only due to postage fees and postage will be £3 for the first item and 50p each additional makeup item and £1 for the nail polish. Royal Mail state i can only send 4 polishes at a time so if you are interested in the duos i will have to post anything above 4 separately with additional postage. I will happily do discounts on postage for multiple items. All payments must be made as a gift through Paypal to katiexlou@live.com and all items will be posted within 3 working days. No returns.

IMATS London 2013 - The Pictures

 

 Ello lovelies! 

So yesterday i had the hard task of dragging my bum out of bed extraordinarily early (4am to be exact) and hop on a train to London to visit this years London IMATS show. Oh its a hard life.... ha.

This was my second year attending the event and last year for me was all about the shopping! This year i wanted to take in more of what the show had to offer and spend a lot more time watching and enjoying some of the magnificent artistry on show. Oh, and do a little shopping of course. Unfortunately this year my partner in makeup related crimes is currently working in Florida (i know, how selfish right? :P ) but luckily good ol' Mum stepped in and offered to come with me for the day. Thanks Mum!

Because of our super early train times we arrived pretty early and were near the front of the queue. We managed to get most of our shopping done by 11pm due to sticking more or less to my prepared shopping list. I really do not like having a budget lol. There were a couple of minor disappointments on the day, Bobbi Brown were only selling to customers with a pro card, which to me seemed a little silly. Secondly Nars only had a small selection of products on sale, although having their whole range on display. I think this was due to only having a relatively small booth so they obviously couldn't stock the whole range, but to make up for this the stock they did have was significantly discounted (around 50%), so i gots me some bargains! I spent my last few hours there taking in the stunning artistry on show and as you can see from the pictures, it certainly didn't disappoint! I even managed to see Terry Barber from MAC work his magic on the main stage, but due to camera fails I was only able to grab a quick Instagram pic of his work.

because this post is already huge with all the gorgeous makeup i snapped, enjoy!

We don't have a MAC store in Southampton, so this got me a little excited to say the least!

FOTD: Spring Greens

Ello lovelies!

It might be snowing out, but today i've cracked out the good ol' salt spray and experimented with some colour! I'm a sucker for buying greens, after neutrals they are probably that colour I'm drawn to most. But as many as i buy, they are not reached for often, so with the weather *hopefully* getting a tad warmer soon i thought i'd give wearing some colour a whirl! And lets not forget, Emerald Green is Pantones colour of the year for 2013, so hopefully we'll see a lot of it around!

FOTD: My typical smokey eye!

Its the look that if i don't have the time, effort, or I'm just being plain lazy I go for this one. My bronzey neutral Inglot palette gets a hell of a lot use purely on this look, i love it!

FOTD: Summers not quite over yet...

I've been on a real neutral kick lately, so after a bit of prompting from my lovely friend Jane i whacked out some of my gorgeous Inglot shades. To put it bluntly, we've had a real shit summer here in the UK, so mostly I've not been feeling very colourful in my makeup so having the chance to have a mess about with some brights was a nice change! I didn't have to leave the house today, as i probably wouldn't have been as comfortable with such a bright look but i really do love how this turned out! I just LOVE Inglot.

Looks a tad messier than i had hoped for in the second picture, and my hair was not being obedient that day, but overall I'm really happy with it! I even had a compliment from my Dad about it whose normal reaction to eye makeup is "it's too dark"... Happy times!

FOTD: Chinovi Neutrals

So i have finally gotten around to playing with my Chinovi Cosmetics goodies from my recent haul, hurray! And lets just say, i am not disappointed! But i wont go into that as my next post will be my full review and swatches, I'll just share a quick FOTD with you lovelies!

I've been on a real neutral kick lately, even my Naked palette is getting a bit of love, although on a whole its still far too warm for me. After swatching my new Chinovi shades i fell in love with a couple and have finally found a day time, smokey, neutral combo that doesn't pull too warm on me, yay! Just as per usual, ignore the brows, I've still not mastered those...

Also, I've managed to finally get my skin somewhat clear, I've changed a few things in my routine, like using non abrasive exfoliators and adding a few drops of tea tree to my toner and my skin is seeming to LOVE it! But again, another post on that soon!

Summer Lust List!

Slowly but surely i am determined to get some of these beauties in my life...

1 - Inglot Eyeshadows.
I am obsessed with my Inglot shadows and have been lusting after some new ones for what seems like forever (its really not that long, I'm just a drama queen). In particular i really want some more cool toned neutrals and a few pearl brights including shimmery limes and oranges!

2 - A Better Camera
I have none in particular in mind yet, just an upgrade from my current £50 bargain. Yes mine does the job (most of the time) but it would be nice to learn to take some better snaps with a nice new camera. Just nothing toooooo expensive.

3 - New GHD's
Not sure why, but lately my hair has refused to stay straight and has been returning to its usual wavy (and not in a good way) state within an hour or two. Which to be honest is thoroughly annoying! So these are at the top of my must buy list! Mine are about 6 years old and have taken a bit of a battering, so I'm eyeing a nice glossy new pair.

4 - Revlon Lip Stain Balms
There is a fair bit of American makeup on my written Lust List (yes, i actually keep a written list!) but as these are rumoured to be making an appearance in the UK next month i thought I'd include them! Although, i think i might do a shopping list post of all the American makeup i hope to get my paws on later this year!

5 - Darling Girl Cosmetics (all of it)
Okay, all of it may be a slight exaggeration, but hey! This website has been taunting me and my no buy for some time now and I'm not sure i can resist much longer! I've got my eye on tooooo many things on the website including shadows, glitter glue, lip products and multiple scents of their skin quenchers. Must, resist!

6 - Caudalie Beauty Elixir 

If you read blogs you'll know exactly what this is. Its stupidly expensive but somehow this has not put me off lusting over it. /sigh


7 - Dinair Airbrush System 

This is a relatively new lust. Do i need it? God no. But i really, really, really, really want one.
*Insert tantrum*

Inglot Freedom System - Rainbow Neutrals

Another long overdue post for you today. If you remember back a couple of months ago i was lucky enough to win one of Girlie Review's giveaways that included not one, but TWO five pan Inglot Palettes.

As some of you may know i LOVE Inglot shadows, i picked up quite a few at Imats this year and have been lusting after more ever since. So needless to say i was over the moon when i won these! The rainbow shadows were at the top of my lust list, and for an eyeshadow hoarder, i really don't have that many mattes! So this palette was the perfect addition to my little collection. I've been absolutely loving the lighter neutrals with a bit of winged liner for a more "Pin Up" look, I've been wearing some of the more medium browns lightly through my brows and needless to say the matte blacks gotten quite a lot of love! I'm really wondering why I've never really owned mattes before, they are SO versatile! Love!

Price wise these aren't too expensive in the UK at £6 each, but once you've bought a few and a palette it soon mounts up. But in comparison to other brands of around the same quality its phenomenal! The Inglot palettes start from 1 all the way up to 20 or 40, so theres a size to fit any budget. If you live near London, i really recommend checking out their Westfields store, then you can get a feel for the products, have a little swatch and not pay annoying postage, which is a whopping £6!

Again, if you can get your hands on Inglot shadows, DO IT, they are well worth the money. They've just released some new shades... So more to add to my lust list! I can see a new palette (or two) being ordered before too long, hehe!
