January / February Favourites!

Ello Lovelies!

I'm not one for monthly favourites but this year I'm making an effort to make them a bi-monthly occurrence. And the first one would be a tad late... Ooops! I've been changing up my daily stash every week or so to make sure i work through the unloved gems in my collection and these are the things I've been loving the past 2 months!

L'oreal Lumi Magique Foundation - Rose Pearl
This was a new purchase and I reached for it quite a bit over the last month or so. I don't generally have much luck with "drugstore" foundations, but this one is a beauty! Medium coverage with that lit from within glow, really beautiful! I'll be posting a full review soon.

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment
A long time ago, i managed to snag the Sephora birthday gift that included two mini Sugar lip balms and I've been hooked ever since. On my trip to London in January I dragged my boyfriend on a mission to find the Fresh store just so i could pick another one of these up. Priced at £18 they are extremely expensive but are honestly the best lip balms I've ever tried!

Benefit Hello Flawless Powder - Shell
I used up a whole one when they were first released and never got round to repurchasing due to having far, far too many powders in my collection. I was lucky enough to get one for Christmas this year. Its a fuller coverage powder that really does give a flawless finish, its up there with my MAC Studio Fix Powder as an all time favourite.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer - Brightener
Sadly, we can't get this shade in the UK (just like the Radiance shade of Dream Lumi, HMPH!) but i absolutely love it. Perfect for brightening under the eyes and highlighting the face. MAYBELLINE! We need this shade in the UK, K?!

Tarte Emphaseyes Brow Pencil - Taupe
This has been so well loved that all the writing has rubbed off. Priced at $19.50 this isn't the cheapest of brow pencils but i absolutely adore it. Its the perfect taupe shade for my blonde hair and has a great little spooley brush on one end for taming them. I'll be interested to see if QVC gets these and their pricing because i fear this is getting near the end.

Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Mascara
As you can see, i love me some Tarte. I was lucky enough to be sent over one of the QVC Tarte TSV's at the end of last year by a lovely lady in a makeup group i am in and it included two of these babies. Like all mascaras, i wasn't a fan at first. But after a few days it really grew on me. It can go clumpy if you aren't careful to wipe off the excess on the brush but it gives amazing volume!

Nars Guy Bourdin Blush Palette
Rather than tease you with something that's no longer available, I'm actually loving one of the permanent shades in this palette. Deep Throat (giggles). Childish behaviour aside, it is a beautiful blush that I've been wearing most days for the last month. A subtle peachy pink that just gives a fresh looking wash of colour!

It was hard to narrow down to just these 7 items but i don't think I've featured any of them in previous favourites so a win for me!

What have you been loving this month?
Let me know!

Sephora now ships to the UK!

YES YOU READ THAT RIGHT!

This is going to be a quick post because I'm not sure how much longer i can contain my excitement!

Thank you makeup gods! I woke up this morning to this lovely news and have been sat filling my cart for the last hour... I've been praying for this day for quite some time, hell i even considered doing my FMP at university on the market for Sephora to return to the UK. Well UK shipping will just have to do for now!

Before you all get too excited i will say that import taxes are calculated at the checkout so you won't pay as cheap as you would in the USA. For me this is actually a good thing, i dread waiting for packages from the states only to get a red letter of doom through the door with Royal Mail demanding taxes and their HORRID £8 fee. Well you don't have to worried, its all prepaid with Sephora! Shipping is a flat rate of £10 over £75 which lets be honest, isn't horrendous for shipping. I just hope its fast!

There are some brand exclusions unfortunately like Nars (but who cares, we can get them in the UK anyway!) and things like perfume and nail polish can't be shipped as far as I'm aware. But there are still a ton of brands we can now get our excited little paws on.

I'm now off to keep filling my basket....

What will you be buying?

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm Review

Hey Lovelies!

As soon as i spotted these in my local Boots i knew i had to have them, its no big shocker really considering my love for all things matte in the lipstick department
! There are 10 shades in the matte range and i had to pop into three stores to find the shades i was after, annoyingly it seems smaller Boots are stocking just 4 shades while the larger are only carrying 8. Which leaves the purple shade firmly out of my reach at the moment... Sigh.

I did get my paws on 3 gorgeous shades to share with you today! These are currently on 3 for 2 in Boots or £7.99 each (Superdrug currently have £2 off) so keep your eyes peeled for offers if you are after a few shades. The shades i picked up were Unapologetic - an extremely bright warm pink, Elusive - nudish (for me) lightish pink and Audacious - hot orange. I don't think i own anything like these in my collection!

Matte, oh how i love thee. I really enjoyed the balm stains Revlon released in previous years so was SO excited to hear of the release of these beauties. I'll make the obvious comparison now... These are very similar packaging, smell and texture-wise to the Tarte matte balms. I haven't tried any of the Tarte permanent range shades but i did get one of their gift sets around Christmas which contained 4 smaller sized balms and i feel these are very comparable. They both share a similar minty scent, extremely similar packaging and both have a lovely creamy texture. Surprisingly I've found the Revlon ones pack more of a punch in the colour department, but this may just be because they have a brighter colour range. If you're not after an exact Tarte shade these are a great inexpensive dupe.

I like to wear a balm underneath as with any lipstick but for a matte shade i don't find them overly drying, i actually find these a lot more comfortable on the lips than Mac Mattes or Retro mattes. They are pretty much opaque after two swipes and i find the application really easy with these sort of chubby stick style pens. I've worn Unapologetic for around 7 hours before needing a touch up, it even lasted through eating and drinking although it did look a little dry by the end of its wear. I even forgot at one point i was even wearing a lipstick, so these get a huge thumbs up from me!

Overall the Revlon Matte Balms are a massive win for me, but i am a little biased towards mattes. They are comfortable, they wear well and they are affordable. So far are my stand out drugstore product of the year! If you love mattes you really need to go give these beauties a swatch. I'll now be hunting down that purple until i can eventually get my hands on it, oh and possibly a couple more shades while I'm at it... I know they're a new release and its wishful thinking, but i do hope Revlon release more shades in this range!

Have you tried the Revlon Matte Balms yet?
What are your favourite matte lipsticks?

My not so little USA wishlist!

Anyone i know in real life will probably at this moment in time want to throttle me, its got to the point where I'm even annoying myself. But on Friday i jet of to (hopefully) sunny Florida and I'm SO EXCITED I COULD DIE! (hehe, Despicable me). It's my first holibobs without the parents and my first one in about three years, so I'll blame my constant excitement on those factors. I get to spend both mine and the Bf's birthday out in the sun spending our days in theme parks, it doesn't get much better than that! Needless to say I've been accumulating quite a big ol' list over the past few months of some of the USA goodies i hope to get my paws on...

1: Tarte Blushes

2: Zoya Polish

3: Hard Candy Products

4: Neutrogena Healthy Skin Foundation

5: Covergirl Lash Blast Mascara

6: Anastasia Brow Products

7: Wet & Wild Mega Last Lipsticks

8: Wet & Wild Eyeshadow Palettes

9: Bath & Bodyworks Candle

10: Bath & Bodyworks Fragrance Mists

11: Maybelline Colorstay Whipped Foundation

I fully intend to go round Walmart Supermarket Sweep style shoving all the makeup goodies i can grab in my trolley, maybe not to that extreme but I'll probably look like one of those crazy ass shoppers you see online, ha! So *fingers crossed*, my haul will more or less look like this in a few weeks just with some added Disney goodness, or whatever else my shopaholic hands get hold of. I've got a couple of posts lined up while I'm away so it won't be all quiet here, but i intend on tweeting updates while away, so if you don't following have a little clicky on the Twitter button to the right!

Thanks for reading lovelies!
