CK One Shock For Her - Review

Hey Lovelies!

I've got a fragrance review for you lot today and we all know how brilliant i am at those.... (not!). CK One Shock is a fragrance I've looked over so many times in the past purely because of packaging. With all the pretty fancy bottles floating around the perfume market currently you can really see why I'd never given Shock a sniff up until now. The bottle, while not being hideous is pretty darn plain, its inoffensive but fails to catch the eye which is a shame because it smells bloody lovely!

How the experts describe it:

"
A juicy, flavourful floriental that warms into a sexy skin musk. CK One Shock For Her opens with a fierce bouquet of passionflower, pink peony, and jewelled poppy flower. The intensity deepens with blackberry, jasmine and narcisse flower drizzled with a liquid accord. The addictive signature finishes with magnetic ambers enveloped in vanillin and patchouli, wrapped in second skin musk." (Notes taken from ThePerfumeShop website)

My nose strangely picks up a strong lemony scent which i adore, to me its like a lemony cake scent rather than harsh lemon. I also pick up the blackberry and an overall fruity feel to the fragrance. I'm not a big fan of floral and luckily my nose doesn't pick up those notes. Its not the most sophisticated of fragrances, its sweet and fresh, perfect for day time wear and I've been wearing it every day without fail. I adore it. Its a scent i don't get sick off, i just wish the bottle was prettier or the smaller sizes worked out as great value for money as this giant 200ml bottle does. Its definitely not handbag friendly and will fade after a good few hours but those little downfalls aside, i just love it!

Pricewise this is a pretty purse friendly perfume at around £30 for a whopping 200ml! I am working my way through the bottle pretty fast though... If you love fruity, sweet fragrances i really recommend giving this a sniff. The bottle may not be the most enticing but i personally think it is a really lovely scent, maybe not the most sophisticated but definitely a winner for me. I plan to grab a Travelo just so i can throw some of this fruity goodness in my handbag!

You can find CK One Shock for her on Cheap Smells for £28.99 per 200ml.

Whats your favourite CK fragrance?
I love a little Euphoria too!

Mac Lightscapade Review

Hey lovelies!

So if you're a Mac lover you would of undoubtedly heard of this product. Lightscapade is one of their "cult", most sought after products that I've been dying to get my hands on. It's limited edition, and until now I've never been able to find it in stock when its been re-promoted. So yeah, kinda happy!

Lightscapade is a Mineralize Skinfinish Highlighter and a damn pretty one at that! Granted its not as pretty as the ones from earlier collections which were a lighter, pearl like colour with more pink and blue veining, but i think its still quite pretty. I don't live near a Mac store so i have to order online, sadly i think i pulled the short straw and got one with less veining, but I've eventually managed to get my hands on it, so i couldn't care less!

See? Still super pretty!

Like i mentioned, the veining in mine is subtle but i quite like the finish it gives to the skin. Its on the more subtle side of highlighters, not at all over the top and has a very fine shimmer to it. It really does look lovely on the skin. You get 10g of product as its the same size as all their other Skinfinishes, so considering how little highlighter you need to use, i don't see me needing to purchase another one. And I'm pretty glad about that as its on the more expensive side of Mac products with a price tag over £20.

Overall yes its a pretty product and looks lovely on the skin, but am i wowed? No. Considering the immense hype around this product i guess i was expecting a little more, its a lovely highlighter but its not amazing. And i dread to say it but i think i may even like my Cream Colour Base in Pearl more!

All things considered i am glad i own
Lightscapade, I'd be forever lusting after it otherwise. So if you've got your heart set on one or you're an avid Mac collector, grab it while you can. If not, its an alright highlighter, but in my opinion doesn't necessarily live up to all the hype.

You can check it out on the Mac website here.

What do you think?

My First BFTE Set - Brights

A little while ago i placed my very first order with Beauty From The Earth Cosmetics and they did not disappoint. They have possibly the biggest shade selection i have ever seen, with over 350 shades of multipurpose minerals to choose from. I spent literally hours on the website desperately trying to decide which shades to pick and found myself well and truly stuck. After some debating with myself i opted for both their "My First BFTE Sets". These consist of eight of their popular Bright and Light shades. As per usual the packaging on these swayed me quite a bit. Super cute pink polka dot casing, whats not to love?! Today I'll be sharing the absolutely stunning Brights collection.
Each of the samples come packaged in jars with sifters and you get .5 grams of product. It is quite a small amount and priced at $14 each the set isn't the cheapest. But taking into consideration you're getting eight shades and super cute packaging i think it's definitely worth it. After buying TKB Trading pigments any other sample size is going to look small!

Above is picturing the amount of product you'll get with these sets.

Now for the best bit, swatches!
Raspberry - Tangerine - Lemon - Green Apple - Blueberry - Grape - Whisper - Gem

This picture just shows exactly how vibrant these shades are! Raspberry has got to be my favourite and I've really enjoying wearing that as it goes (or clashes nicely) with my bright red hair. Whisper is a bit of an odd one out in this collection although it does work lovely blended with other shades or used as a highlight.

Both these pictures were taken without flash but the above one was taken in direct sunlight. This picture really does these shades justice. They are vibrant, gorgeous shimmery shades perfect for any bright lovers collection.

All in all i would wholeheartedly recommend BFTE. With such an extensive range of colours and excellent colour pay off i think they are well worth the money. When i get through these i will certainly be repurchasing full sizes of most of these shades. In fact I'm already plotting my next order I'm that impressed!

You can visit and buy Beauty From The Earth from their website here.

Which shades are your favourites?
And if you've got your own review on them please share it!

Thanks for reading guys.
