MAC 15x Cool Neutral Palette Review

I thought i should get this little beauty out of the way following my review on the Warm Neutrals Palette which you can read here. 

As i mentioned in the last post i really couldn't pick between the two and very naughtily picked up both palettes when they launched on the MAC website. Both are priced at a semi reasonable (for MAC) £65 and contain 15 nearly full sized eyeshadow pans which is a steal considering the £170ish price tag to create your own. As i mentioned in my last post the palette contains 19.5g of product making each shadow 1.3g rather than the regular 1.5g per pan advertised on the MAC website. But again the price difference really makes up for the slight lack in product.

This palette contains an overall more cooler variety of shades (stating the obvious) but does have the addition of a few warmer ones which make the palette a little more versatile. Personally, i think out of the two this has to be my favourite shade selection. I also found the textures of these a little better than the Warm option as these swatched and applied beautifully.

I find MAC shadows a little drier in texture and these all feel of the same quality of the MAC eyeshadows i already own. My favourites from this palette are Crushed Love and Sun Tweaked,  i always tend to steer towards more bronzey/gold shades so these are right up my alley. After Dusk and Blackberry are going to make really lovely winter smokey eye options, a nice alternative to using Cranberry. My camera (or should I say my lack of photography skills) likes to wash the lighter shades in the palette out quite a bit. So onto the swatches!

Overall i think this is a pretty well rounded palette. It would have been made perfect for me with the addition of a transition shade... I know, i know, I'm like a broken bloody record, i just wish more palettes would have one! If you like MAC shadows i think you'll love these so i highly recommend giving these a little swatch at a counter or store near you!

MUA £1 Blushes - Review

Hii Lovelies!

I'm sure the MUA blushes have been on every beauty addicts radar since their release but for some reason I've never actually picked them up until recently. Priced at £1 each these, like many other MUA products, are a total steal. To make things even better, students with a valid NUS card can save 10% on all their Superdrug purchases.

I'd been a little sceptical about the quality of these but i had a couple of quid left on a voucher so decided to give them a whirl, and i was very pleasantly surprised! The two shades i picked up were Lolly - A bright peach and Candyfloss - A cool toned pink with an almost mauve like hint to it. Both have a satiny like finish with a very fine micro shimmer that doesn't really translate to the skin.

Both blushes have really decent pigmentation, apply and blend surprisingly well. Regardless of their £1 price tag these are pretty lovely blushes that could easily go for higher with a packaging change. I have absolutely not faults with the formula just the packaging looks a little cheap and flimsy. But i can't complain for just a quid! On a more positive note these are easy to find in your collection due to the clear tops so the packaging isn't all bad.

Overall I'm pretty darn impressed with these shades and will almost certainly be adding a few more, if not the rest of the range to my collection. For a £1 blush you really can't beat these so they get a huge thumbs up for me! If you'd like to see a picture of Lolly in action, i featured in my latest FOTD post. FOTD: A Little Nakedness

I'm talking about the palette of course...

Being a glasses wearer I've shied away from shadow the past few months so i thought it was about time i cracked one of the many palettes I've splurged on in the last few months out. Pulled out of the stash was Naked 3! I decided to try and opt for a more wearable day time look and for now I'm pretty smitten with this palette. Anyway onto the look!

Eyes:

 Urban Decay Naked 3 - Trick, Dust, Strange and Factory.

Mua - Eye Primer

Elf - Black Liquid Eyeliner

Tarte - Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara

Oh and I am actually wearing clothes in these pictures, my hair just covers the straps, so no actual nakedness lol. I'll be playing around with more day time looks over the next few weeks and will be sure to post some of my favourites.

Elf Daily "Moisture" Stick - A not so favourable review...

Hii Lovelies!

The Elf Daily Moisture Stick has had some pretty rave reviews in the Youtubing world and dry skinned ol' me just had to test it out. I've spent a good few months on and off testing this out because i just didn't quite "get it". So I've been on the fence for a while as to whether i was going to review it or not... But here we are!

 The packaging is sleek and twists up to reveal a clear stick of product inside. My first issue with this is that it really cannot be very hygienic? I know there are a lot of products like this on the market (and i probably should have considered this before purchasing), but something about applying it in this way really screams to me BACTERIA BUILDUP. Anyways... My OCD tendencies aside, we'll get onto the actual product.

For a product thats dubbed "moisturising" even stating it in the name, well its not very damn moisturising at all! It applies in a thin layer and sinks into the skin very quickly not feeling any more hydrated than before. With a second layer it starts to get this tacky feeling that quite frankly grosses me out, certainly not a texture I'd like to apply makeup over. So I'd discovered that this really isn't a face product for me, so i tried it on my hands and elbows... Again no hint of hydration there either.

I JUST DON'T GET IT!

It also has a slightly higher price point than most Elf products, at £8, which I'm guessing is due to the "anti-aging ingredients and antioxidants" inside. Yes the packaging is a little reminiscent of that Benefit stick primer (again, hygiene issues put a stop to me buying that one too) but other than that it really just doesn't do anything. My last resort for this is dipping my cuticles in it and praying it does something, otherwise its going in the bin.

I do love a lot of the Elf product line but sadly this was a massive miss for me and one i cannot recommend. I'm just baffled as to how this is supposed to be used? What does it actually do? And why has it got such rave reviews... Do you know? Please tell me before it meets Mr Wheelie Bin!
