Too Faced - Sweet Indulgences Palette

Ello lovelies!
I was in two minds whether to post this little review or not. I'd already photographed and written the post when i noticed that it was no longer available online, but i've since been informed it is available in some larger Boots stores in the UK, so if it takes your fancy, Boots is your best shot!

Plus its just too pretty not to blog about...

This little gem is quite possibly my favourite Christmas present ever, which is a bit cheeky since technically, i chose it, but oh well! I've never had the pleasure of trying any Too Faced products before, I've always had my eye on some of their little kits but found the cardboard packaging a bit of a turn off. Although this isn't exactly the most practical of packing, it sure is pretty.

The Too Faced Sweet Indulgence Palette includes 16 eyeshadows, a full sized Shadow Insurance (which retails for around £16 on its own), two bronzers; their famous Sun Bunny Light and an exclusive shade, two blushes, their also very famous Candlelight Glow Highlight and a pretty useless double ended brush. Phew, that was a mouthful! Basically, its got a whole host of goodies inside!

My last FOTD was using pretty much entirely this palette and I've got to say I'm really enjoying it! The eyeshadows are decently pigmented and blend like a dream. I would of preferred a few more mattes in there, Teddy Bear and In The Buff are the only full mattes included, but considering the rest of the palette is mostly shimmer having a nice matte transition colour and highlight is pretty damn handy! Black Sugar also appears to be mostly matte with quite a bit of glitter but that generally blends away, which i kinda like. I really love the variety of colours in here you can create nearly an endless amount of looks with this, from daytime to night time smokey eyes to more colourful looks using the pink or GORGEOUS greens.

I'm not too fond of shimmer bronzers so i haven't really given these a bash yet, but i will try too soon. The blushes have really decent pigmentation and including both a pink and a peach makes the palette even more handy! It is really easy to create nearly an entire look with it. I haven't quite made my mind up on Candlelight Glow yet, its pretty glitter heavy, which with pores the size of potholes doesn't really work too well. But I'll keep experimenting as I'm a sucker for a good highlight!

And for the famous Shadow Insurance, well... I've not gotten on with it too well so far. I've used this palette with my trusty MUA primer and had no creasing issues but using the Too Faced primer it creased horrifically within a few hours, which shocked me. But, that could be due to over application, so considering how hyped it is, I'm willing to give it another try. The brush on the other hand, ugh. Its a sponge applicator on one end (WHY OH WHY?) and an unimpressive brush on the other end. But considering its the only thing I've had to moan about, overall this palette is doing pretty damn well....

Swatches!

L - R: In The Buff, Peach Fuzz, Marshmallow, Lovey Dovey, Copper Peony, Teddy Bear, Gum Drop, Malted Milk Ball.
L - R: Satin Sheets, Nice Stems!, Nice Ash, Cherry Cola, Honeymoon, Pastille, Cop a Teal, Black Sugar.

L - R: Sunny Bunny Light, Exclusive Bronzer, La Vie En Rose, Papa Don't Peach, Candlelight Glow.

Overall, i really bloody love this palette. Priced at £42 it is a smidge on the pricey side but if you consider what you are getting, including a full size Shadow Insurance, its a steal. I believe i used my ASOS student discount when my boyfriend purchased this, taking around 20% off. The packaging is so bloody cute, not very practical, but adorable nonetheless.

So if you're a Too Faced fan or intrigued by the brand, have a little nosey at their stand when your next in Boots (don't forget your points card!). They might just still have this bad boy in stock!

Have you tried any Too Faced products?

NOTD: An attempt at Minnie Mouse nails...

Hey lovelies!

My nail art skills are practically non-existent; i can't even paint them in one full colour without flooding my cuticles. At the beginning of the week i was determined to have "Minnie Mouse" nails and failed miserably with the polish i already had. So i made a quick trip to Boots to pick up a Models Own nail art pen and found my second attempt a little more successful!

Now i wont be painting masterpieces on my nails any time soon but for me, i thought this was pretty damn good! I can see a lot more nail experimentation in my future!

Zoya Sarah is one of my favourite red polishes. Its such a flattering colour with a good amount of shimmer, perfect! And i know it may look like I've photographed a tampon next to it, but no, i haven't gone crazy! Its the Models Own Nail Art pen in White which i used to to the cute polka dots!

Are you any good at nail art?
Feel free to link me your posts in the comments!

FOTD: Malted Milk Ball

Hey lovelies!
A quick little FOTD for you today!

I've been absolutely loving my new Too Faced palette so i thought I'd attempt a full face with it. I'm still on a real neutral kick and have been experimenting with more day time wearable smokey eyes. I've also been on a mission to shop my stash more often and I'm glad i did because I've fallen back in love with my Skin79 BB Cream. I'm a foundation whore and fall in and out of love with sheer and then full coverage foundations and I'm definitely favouring the sheer option at the moment.

Eyes:
Too Faced - Shadow Insurance
Too Faced - Marshmellow, Malted Milk Ball, Black Sugar, In The Buff and Lovey Dovey Eyeshadows.
Elf - Black Liquid Eyeliner
MUFE - Smoky Lash Mascara
MAC - Omega (Brows)

Face:
Skin79 - Hot Pink BB Cream
Maybelline - Dream Lumi Touch Concealer in Radiance
Laura Mercier - Secret Brightening Powder
Maybelline - Dream Matte Powder
Nars - Laguna Bronzer
Too Faced - Papa Don't Peach Blush
Too Faced - Candlelight Glow Highlighter

I'll be posting a full review of this little beaut of a palette soon!

Have you rediscovered any of your stash lately?

Lit Cosmetics - Glitter Review

Ello lovelies!

I'll start by saying, my photos do not do these beauties nearly enough justice. I seem to fail miserably when it comes to photographing glitters, these pictures do not show off how utterly stunning they are, but i try my best. Hopefully I'll get the hang of my camera some time soon lol.

I went on a little bit of a glitter kick before Christmas... Before now, i didn't have any pure glitter in my collection (apart from some yucky Nyx cream ones) so i decided to remedy this. I really wanted a champagney glitter... and i wanted it bad. Something like China Glaze's I'm Not Lion, just for my face. So i went on the hunt on the interwebs and had a real search, everything i found was either too gold or too bronze for what i was looking for. I'd heard a lot about Lit on the blogosphere and after a suggestion decided to check them out, and low and behold they had the shade i was looking for, Champagne Wishes!

LIT Cosmetics stocks four sizes of glitter and being a bit of a glitter newbie i opted for size 2, their most popular size. These are priced at $13 each, but they currently have Siberian as their feature colour which you receive free when you buy two shades, and whilst checking out their Facebook page i noticed they were offering a free shade when you enter the code "Lit Chick" at the checkout. So it worked out $26 + shipping for four colours, i say that is pretty damn good! They also included a 4ml sample of their Clearly Liquid Glitter Base which i am absolutely loving! I'm using it sparingly so I'll do a full review when i eventually get around to purchasing a full size.

I'd always assumed glitter was tricky to work with or a lot of effort, how wrong was i? These are SO easy to apply. I generally do my eye makeup first, apply a little bit of their glitter base using a concealer, or small flat foundation brush then use a second flat brush to pat on the glitter, its that simple! You could also use these for eyeliner or even nail art! I've been using Champagne Wishes the most, i used that in my last FOTD but again, my pictures really didn't do the shades justice. And Rich and Famous I've been using to add some sparkle to a bronzey/gold smokey eye. Love!

Now I'm not even going to attempt to start describing the shades because i would fail, miserably. But what the pictures fail to pick up is the gorgeous iridescent sparkles in Champagne Wishes, in the light it looks absolutely stunning! I've yet to use Siberian or Hulk in a look, but I'll get a FOTD up soon!

All swatches are over a thin layer of Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy as I'm trying to ration my glitter base. Look at them sparkle!

Overall I'd say I'm pretty much head over heals for Lit and when they change their feature colour (and I'm off my nobuy), I'll be purchasing a few more neutral shades and their glitter base.
If you're a glitter fan, you really need to check these beauties out! You can get to the Lit Website here.

I also naughtily purchased some more gorgeous glitter from one of my favourite indies, so keep an eye out for that review soon!

MAC - Soft and Gentle MSF - Review

Heya Lovelies!

Got another review of one of my Christmas pressies for you lovely lot today. I only own one other MAC MSF and thats Lightscapade, and back when i first reviewed it was pretty underwhelmed. But since my initial review I've used it on an almost daily basis, its so subtle but highlights my cheekbones so well, i absolutely love it! I was pleased as punch when i opened this on Christmas day as it was top of my wishlist, it goes to show that boyfriends do listen... occasionally. Theres a big difference in how these perform so i thought I'd do a full review on this little beauty for ya.

Soft and Gentle is a gorgeous bronzey peach MSF and packs more of a punch than Lightscapade. When first swatched, it looks a little scary and i was a bit worried it wouldn't work on my fair skintone, luckily i was wrong! Applied with a light hand this product looks absolutely beautiful on the skin, a little more out there than I'd wear on  a daily basis but for nights out, this is my now highlighter of choice.

Because of how well is sheers out i think it would work well on a whole host of skin tones, I'm pretty damn happy it works on even my Casper-like complexion! Not normally a fan of frost like finishes in face products but i had to admit i really adore the finish, it highlights beautifully without emphasising pores or any bad skin. Just makes the skin look beautifully radiant, although it is easy to over do it, so a light hand is definitely recommend. Priced at £21.50 these aren't the cheapest, but you get a whopping 10g of product so i don't think i can ever see myself having to purchase another one. You just need a smidge of product for the perfect application, so this will probably last me a lifetime.

If you're a highlight fiend like myself, or just fancy adding a bit more glow to your routine i highly recommend having a looky at this little gem. Luckily for my bank balance there are only two permanent MSF's currently, but MAC do release some gorgeous limited edition shades quite frequently, so if this looks like too much frost for you, keep your eye out for a Lightscapade release.

Whats your favourite MAC MSF?
