Lioele - The surprisingly gorgeous Lip Color Stick review!

Ello Lovelies!

Sometimes I'm a bit of an impulse buyer and more often than not I'm left slightly disappointment with my purchases. But then there's that rare occasion where something just completely exceeds my expectations and blows them out of the water. The Lioele Lip Color Sticks did just that.

From the pictures on eBay i was expecting a semi sheer finish lip product, slightly akin to the famous Clinique Chubby Sticks but oh no, these are so much more. I actually gasped a little when i first swatched them. They are gloriously pigmented, beautiful, satin finish lip colours, and i am well and truly in love. I would have been perfectly happy with a sheer lip crayon considering their under £4 price tag but we all know that I'm a matte girl at heart so these are right up my street.

For £3.28 each (including delivery) you have four gorgeous colours to choose from; Cherry Red, Hot Pink, Orange and Pink. The two featured here are Cherry Red and Pink, but I'd be lying if i said i didn't already have the other two shades on my watch list. These also contain 4g of product which as lip products go, is a pretty hefty amount. The packaging feels and looks a little light and cheap but for the price point, I'm certainly not complaining!

Because of their satin texture i did find these a little bit on the drying side, so a good exfoliation and a lip balm is a must but these apply opaque in one to two sweeps and have excellent lasting power. I've worn the Pink shade for a good 5 hours before needing a touch up, which is pretty darn good for me! Because of their more matte like texture these don't bleed or travel around the lip line either which is one of my pet peeves for lip products. They apply smoothly and are pretty comfortable on the lips too. ... Just look at those colours!

I can honestly say these are my favourite affordable lipstick discovery of the year, they rival the quality of even higher end lipsticks but at a fraction of the cost. For once, I'm so glad I took a little gamble and ordered them because it definitely paid off! I absolutely adore them! Now heres hoping that Lioele are kind enough to release some more shades, because i for one would jump straight on that bandwagon!

My Current Favourite Lip Combo!

Hey there Lovelies!

With my no buy still in full swing I've been rummaging through my collection more and more to find those unloved gems that have sadly been forgotten about. MAC's Up The Amp was one of the lipsticks i was most excited to try after my USA trip but i found it a little too harsh and dark on my fair complexion. It wasn't until i started shopping my stash that something clicked and I had that light bulb moment and realised... I could lighten it with my Sleek Pout Paint! Pout Paints are Sleeks version of the much loved OCC Lip Tars and in my opinion are a much nicer formula to work with, i just wish they'd release more shades! Cloud 9 is simply a white mixer shade from the range and works perfectly with every lipstick I've tried it with so far!

Since this discovery I've been mixing my lipsticks like crazy trying to find more unique shades and make some of my more "unwearable" lipsticks a bit more flattering on me. Its a simple concept and I'm a little embarrassed I hadn't thought about doing this before! It is also a great way to try the popular ombre lip trend that's been around lately, although i haven't quite mastered that one myself. This has really brought back my love for lipstick and for once I'm actually making the most of my excessive lipstick collection and really loving doing so!

Pout Paint in Cloud 9 (£4.99, SleekMakeup)
Up The Amp (£15.50, MAC)
I'm head over heals for this combo and have been wearing it at every possible chance i can get! My love for lipstick is well and truly back!

Makeup Revolution - What You Waiting For Palette Review

Ello Lovelies!

Makeup Revolution are cracking out the new products lately and I'm a little late on the bandwagon with this palette but here we are! What You Waiting For? Is one of their Limited Edition Salvation Palettes (£6, here) boasts 18 neutral toned eye shadows; 6 matte and 12 shimmer, with an extremely affordable £6 price point. I've reviewed their Death By Chocolate Palette previously here and although that remains my favourite out of the ones i own, this one is still a corker in its own right!

Cased in sturdy black packaging with a large mirror inside this feels a lot more luxurious than its bargain price point. Inside the shadow layout reminds me a little of Sleek's palettes with the matte shadows imprint, but of course these hold a lot more shadows. While all of these shadows are named, idiot here has lost the little insert with these on (having the names on the back of the palette would have been handy) so I'll just be swatching them by row.

The shimmer shadows have a lovely smooth texture and a little bit of fallout, but as i always do my eye makeup first this isn't an issue for me. The mattes are a little dryer in texture but are still completely workable shades. I particularly love the matte cream shade for a brow bone highlight. I love the colour selection in the palette as warmer neutrals aren't shades i tend to go for, but I've really been enjoying these beauties!

As always my swatches do not do this palette any justice. And although I still find myself reaching for my Death By Chocolate palette more, this palette gets a big thumbs up from me. These are excellent shadows for the price point and i love the addition of the matte row as you can pretty much do an entire eye look just with this. These wear well on me with a primer and I don't see any significant fading or creasing until after the 7-8 hour mark which is the norm for me.

As i mentioned earlier this palette is Limited Edition, along with the other 5 in the collection so if this takes your fancy I'd pick it up soon!

Tony Moly - Cats Wink Clear Pact

Ello Lovelies!

So i think I've caught the attention of all you cat lovers out there with this magnificently cute packaging! It is quite possibly the cutest packaging for a powder on the planet and is one of Tony Moly's more practical, yet super sweet packaging offerings. Tony Moly is an Asian cosmetics brand that I've had my eye on for quite some time. They have some of the most delightfully quirky packaging available on the market and my eBay wish list is bursting with products I'm lusting over.... A hand cream shaped as a peach? Yes please!

My little sidetracking over I'll get onto the review of this little cutie! As adorable packaging goes this slim little powder compact is also perfectly practical. Small enough to pop in your makeup bag without taking up too much room. It also houses a handy little mirror and powder puff type thing for on the go application. The plastic casing and closure seems sturdy enough for its less than £5 price point too.

Honestly I was so in love with the packaging i really wasn't bothered if the powder was any good at all, since i could just use this as compact mirror for my handbag. But saying that the powder inside isn't half bad. Cats Wink Clear Pact comes in two shades; 1 and 2 and i opted for the lighter of the two. I'd say this comes up as around an N13 in MAC, so extremely light but with a light dusting is pretty undetectable on the skin. I'm not a fan of applying this with the applicator it comes with as it can get very heavy and cakey very fast but much prefer to use a light dusting with a powder brush. I'll keep this in my handbag for quick touch ups using a very, very light hand.
Whilst the actual powder isn't my favourite cup of tea, the price point and cat compact make up for the actual products downfall. This would make the perfect small gift for any cat fan and Tony Moly do have some other feline inspired products that are just as affordable as this.

Unfortunately I won't be linking the eBay seller i purchased this from since for some reason they've sky rocketed the price for this but you can find this on eBay from various sellers for around the £5 mark.

Have you tried any Asian beauty products?
