300 Followers - A Massive Thank You - Fyrinnae Giveaway

Ello everyone!

Firstly I'd like to say massive thank you to every single follower of my blog. 300 followers may not seem a lot to some, but its not a number i imagined reach so soon, so I'm absolutely thrilled. So again, thank you! <3

So as my way of saying thank you I'm holding a little giveaway over the next week!

The winner will win $20 online gift card for Fyrinnae.com!

Fyrinnae have been one of my favourite brands of 2011, so i couldn't think of anything better! They have a gorgeous selection of loose eyeshadows, lip lustres and have just expanded into blushes (which I'm eyeing myself!). So the gift card will give you the opportunity to get your hands on whatever you want from the website, they ship worldwide too! This giveaway is in no way sponsored by them, i just wanted to share the love so I'll be paying for it myself.

How to enter:

Entering is simple! Just be a follower through GFC and leave me a comment with your email and answer this question:

If you could create your perfect eyeshadow what would it be? And what would you name it?

Everyone will get one entry each, no additional blog or tweet entries as i feel this is fairer. But if you would like to do either of these anyway, feel free! The winner will be picked using random.org.

The competition will close at 3pm (UK time) on Friday 3rd February 2012.

If you'd like to see swatches of my little Fyrinnae collection click here or here.

  Thanks for reading!

FOTD: Green With Envy

My Sugarpill collection doesn't get as much love as it deserves, so i decided this definetly needed rectifying! I've been suffering a bit with my skin lately (hence the lack of FOTD's) so i was pretty chuffed at today's attempt.

It's a little more dramatic then I'd usually go for, especially the lashes! But I was pretty happy with how it turned out, just not so happy i couldn't really get a decent picture!

Eyes:
Urban Decay - Primer Potion
Sugarpill - Junebug and Goldilux
Sugarpill - Taco, Midori and Bulletproof
Elf - Black Liquid Liner
Urban Decay -  24/7 Eyeliner Black
Red Cherry Lashes - #304

Face:
Skin79 - BB Cream
Estee Lauder - Double Foundation in Shell
Elf - HD Powder
The Balm - Frat Boy Blush

Sugarpill still remains some of my all time favourite pressed and loose eye shadows and these will definitely get the love they deserve over the next few months. I currently have the complete collection of Sugarpill loose and pressed eye shadows so feel free to check out reviews and swatches here, here and here.

On another note, just under two weeks till IMATS... Eeeee excited!

Bargain Beauty - Red Cherry Lashes

I've never been really a big lash girl. My first ever experience was with Mac lashes, and i think i looked at them more than i actually wore them. Lashes are expensive, and when you're a bit heavy handed like me they run the risk of only being worn once. So spending £4 - £10 on a pair of lashes for just one night out never really appealed to me.

So over the past six months or so I've been playing around with more affordable lashes, some being utterly rubbish! I'd seen all the hype online about these, but i was initially a little cautious and just purchased a few pairs, initially... Then i discovered how much i actually LOVED them the addict in me purchased another pair, or 20.

I'm still a lash newbie but these by far are my favourite lashes to date. They are SO easy to apply and i forget I'm even wearing them. The best part about these lashes is the price. Many websites I've seen sell them around $2 each, BARGAIN!

These two are probably my lashes of choice so far, they have an extensive range from natural to dramatic so there's really something for every lash fan. I apply these with DUO adhesive and I've even had to be reminded to take them off, they are that comfy!

I ordered mine from Beauty From The Earth's website here
At the time they had their cyber Monday sale with 40% off, making them even more of a bargain! And shipping is extremely reasonable to the UK.

I'm looking forward to posting some FOTD's with these beauties!

High End VS High Street - Blush

Ello lovelies!

So this is hopefully the first of a series of posts i aim to do in 2012, High End VS High Street. I'm a massive fan of finding bargain bits that rival some of the popular high end goodies so i thought why not start a series?!

As you've probably guessed this is going to be all about the infamous Nars Orgasm blush, and the closest "dupe" I've found so far. So no more blabbering and onto the comparison!
Rose Gold                   -                   Orgasm

I actually own two Orgasms, one singular and one you may have seen in one of my latest posts on the Danmari palette. It is simply a beautiful blush that works for most light to medium skin tones. The other blush I'll be talking about is Rose Gold by Sleek, which has been extremely hyped as a dupe for this.

In pan form (especially in the pictures) there is one large difference. As you can see Orgasm is much pinker in tone than Rose Gold. But swatched is a whole different story...

Rose Gold - Orgasm

I wanted to do a relatively fair comparison, so this is just one swipe of each blush. Rose Gold is SO much more pigmented, which for blushes isn't always a good thing as a light hand is definitely needed with this. But unlike its more expensive counterpart is also very wearable on darker skin tones.

Blended out they are both absolutely stunning, but again you would need a much lighter hand for the Sleek one. Both give a gorgeous pinky peach flush to the cheek, Orgasm is quite glittery in the pan but this doesn't transfer too much to the skin, Rose Gold leaves a lovely sheen.

Overall both are gorgeous blushes. Personally, when/if i finish my Nars ones it's not a shade I'd repurchase simply because of the price, weighing at around £22. The Sleek offering gives you a budget friendly, better quality (in my opinion), almost dupe of this cult classic. Unless your an avid collector, I'd say opt for the high street option! Saying this i still really LOVE Nars blushes, the pigmentation isn't at all bad, and is buildable for a dramatic cheek.

High End 0 - High Street 1

Which is your favourite?

Clarisonic Plus - First impressions

Ello lovelies!

So if you've seen my "What i got for Christmas" post you'll already know i own this bad boy. My long suffering boyfriend had probably had quite enough of me lusting and banging on about wanting one he generously bought me for one for Christmas! Well actually, he let me buy it online on Christmas day just in case he got the wrong one, bless him!

Recently ASOS have been selling (when you can catch them in stock) i believe all three versions, this appeals to me as i can get student discount! I'd had my eye on the plus for some time and with the discount made it only a few quid more than the classic. So i snapped up the very last one in stock!

Needless to say, Christmas day i was a very very happy bunny!
Sensitive Brush Head         -            Body Brush Head

I won't bang on too much about what it does, because I'm sure most people already know. But the Plus set comes with a face brush, body brush, three sample cleansers and a body polish. Personally i probably wont get too much use out of the cleansers (and I've been really lazy with the body brush) but I've been loving using this with my Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish.

I was tempted to do a photo skin diary, but i don't suffer too badly with my skin and my main reason for wanting a Clarisonic was to eliminate lumps and bumps and possibly help with my blackhead problem. But i will post updated pictures in a month or two when I've really gotten into it!

So onto my experience so far. It's only been two weeks so obviously this is a preliminary review but i LOVE it. The first time i used it i could feel a noticeable difference, my skin felt smoother and definitely cleaner. I've been using it once a day and am seeing a real difference in the texture of my skin, less lumps and bumps and generally a more even texture. I have had a few break outs, but with the Clarisonic that's expected initially.

The only con i feel is the price, at £179 (without discount) it is EXTREMELY expensive. But if you're lusting after one they do have the Mia priced at £120. Both of which are currently on ASOS. Student discount = win.

So that's it really, I'll post an update when I've had another month or two to really put it to the test. Feel free to ask any questions!

I'd love to hear your Clarisonic experiences, leave me a comment!

Nars All About Cheek - Danmari Palette

Ello all!

Hope you all have a lovely Christmas and New Years!
My posts have been a bit lacking lately, mainly due to being swamped with uni work (BOO) and travelling. So i thought I'd pop up a quick post on one of my favourite Christmas pressies! I'd seen a LOT of Youtube hype on this beauty but was mostly unaware it was available in the UK (I believe it was a Sephora exclusive in the US) so i was exstatic to get this for Christmas! I was in two minds whether to upload this since it's now not available on the Nars UK website but i decided too just in case some of you can still get your hands on it!

Top row: Hungry Heart - Orgasm - Desire
Bottom row: Casino - Super Orgasm - Sin

As you can see it contains six gorgeous shades! What i love about Nars blushes (I already own a single Orgasm) is how pigmented they are. They apply like an absolute dream. I do wish they'd popped a different shade in instead of Super Orgasm, my camera isn't picking up how glittery it is, which for some will be off putting. And Casino is faaaaaar too dark for pale ladies like myself!

Priced at £45 this is on the pricier side and these are about two thirds of the size of single Nars blushes, but for someone who rarely hits pan on makeup like me, this is awesome! I'm adoring Sin at the moment and I'm positive in the summer Desire is going to get a lot of love. This has come in SO handy for travel, the packaging is sturdy and contains (almost) all the shades i need for a short trip!

So yeah, i won't go into any more detail since you've probably heard it all before. But I'm in love! I'm definitely on the look out for some more blush palettes, watch out Inglot and La Femme!

Thanks for reading.
